5.5 Decentralized but Rate-Limited Minting

The rate-limiting feature is a crucial aspect of Carrot's design, serving as a safeguard against potential abuse. By limiting the rate at which projects can mint Carrot tokens, the project endorser mitigates the risk of fraudulent projects generating excessive tokens before revocation can occur.

The rate limits how many slices (grams) of Carrot can be minted per second. If the minting curve is more complex (multiple stages in the initiative), different rates can fit the curve with line segments.
